If money is not a problem definitely stay at the Fairmont Hotel, but if you are looking for a cabin, close to nature where you can hear the night sounds than Alpine Village is the place to stay.
Nestled in a beautiful area in the Canadian Rockies in Jasper National Park across from the Athabasca River, we spent four nights at this resort.
The cabins are situated to allow each unit to have a view of the surrounding splendor. The units are spaced so that you do not feel like you are on top of each other.
Beautiful flowers landscaped the grounds and the staff was helpful in providing information about hiking for the area.
Even though we booked six months in advance our first selection was not available and we ended up booking the Heritage small one room cabin.
TIP: Book as far in advance as possible to get your selection.
This individual cabin with a queen size bed had a sitting area in front of the bed with two chairs with a TV that we never turned on, a kitchenette and bathroom. There was a small patio with table, chairs and a BBQ to enjoy right outside our door.
Our cabin allowed us the perfect view of the green area located in front of the unit.
These cabins are located a short drive from the town of Jasper long the Athabasca River. The resort provided Adirondack chairs and most evenings we would take a bottle of wine and enjoy the views while discussing our day. It was so peaceful just to sit and take it all in.
After a long day of hiking we appreciated coming back and sitting in the large hot tub.
