The Sand Pebbles Inn on Moonstone Beach in the town of Cambria is the ideal place to stay after a full day of driving along the Pacific Coast Highway on Route 1.
We chose the Sand Pebbles Inn after reading the reviews on-line. They offered a relaxing stay steps from the waterfront. We wanted a place to unwind after our day exploring Paso Robles wineries and enjoy our bottle of wine.
When we checked in they gave us cookies and offered coffee and hot tea. After getting our key we made our way to our room, which consisted of a comfy king size bed with a cozy fireplace, a refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker and safe.
There was only one sink in the bathroom with plenty of counter space and a nice selection of toiletries.
We had a partial ocean view and were only steps away from the 2 mile boardwalk along the beach.
Leaving the hotel we walked across the street to the boardwalk and started meandering along the path. It was nice to be outside walking after being in the car. If you did not want to walk, there were plenty of benches to sit and just enjoy the views.
Looking back we could see our hotel in the distance.
After traveling the length of the boardwalk, we returned and got our bottle of wine and some glasses and watched the sunset over the pacific. What a perfect way to end the day.
The next morning we enjoyed the continential breakfast which was included with our stay. There was a nice selection of food to fill our bellies before getting back in the car.
After checking out of the hotel we were back on the road heading for our next destination, Big Sur.
