For two months I tried to book my tickets to Italy using my frequent flyer miles.
I have booked flights before using frequent flyer miles for trips to the Caribbean. I was not having any luck and I was getting very frustrated. Time was ticking away and I did not have tickets for my trip.
I have been collecting frequent flyer miles for years, but only in the last year got into the credit card game, which allows you to collect points to use for award tickets. My favorite credit card is Chase Sapphire. At the time, Chase Sapphire offered 50,000 points if I spent $3000 in three months on my credit card. Over the course of the year any spending on this cards turns into points.
A couple days later, I received an email from a blogger about Award Magic. Award Magic is a service that will eliminate the frustration of booking award tickets. I was sold. After two months of not finding anything on my own, I contacted Award Magic to book my trip. I gave them what frequent flyer miles I had on each airline as well as my Chase Sapphire points, along with a date range I wanted to travel and where I wanted to fly in and out of.
It took all day, back and forth by email to find reasonable flight times, but eventually they found flights I was satisfied with. They ended up booking me on United Airlines to Milan and US Airways from Rome back to BWI. I did not have enough points in my United Airlines account and they advised me to go in and transfer the points. I transferred them and the points immediately showed up on my account. They took care of everything. It was painless and well worth the $139 per person to book the tickets. As far as I was concerned they earned their money. They know all the ins and outs of the booking process which would have saved me time, if I would have known about them sooner. I would not hesitate to use them again.
Have you used Award Magic or another service to book frequent flyer miles?
