Hiking from Ravello to Amalfi via the footpath by Villa Cimbrone is an easy picturesque hike, especially going downhill.
This trail includes numerous steps and flat walkways, which meander in and out of the country side. The views were stunning. When you reach the Villa Cimbrone entrance, turn to the right and start down the steps.
As you walk you will see more steps which turns into a series of trails and steps snaking down the hill side.
There are signs along the way, leading you to your destination so you will not get lost.
With each turn there are more pictures to take.
The views of the sea are gorgeous from the trail.
As you get closer to the sea, there are walls that lead down many steps. The closer you get to the bottom, you will start to pass by houses.
The signs along the way assured us we were going in the right direction.
I was happy to see a watering spot to fill up our water bottles.
The closer we got to the bottom, the better the views and the more pictures we took.
When we reached the road, we encountered the beach.
After hiking an hour and fifteen minutes (it would have been quicker if we did not stop to take so many pictures), we finally reached Amalfi. It was worth the hike down the hill. We only passed one couple making their way up the hill. If you are in the area, put this hike on the list of must do’s. It beats riding the crowded bus, and you get amazing pictures.
