With only a couple of hours to explore Quito before it got dark, we made our way behind the hotel to a famous market, which sells all kinds of items like blankets, T-shirts, scarfs and jewelry.
There are colorful rows of stalls to browse. I wanted to get an idea of the prices, as one of our stops was to the Otvalo Market, one of the largest markets in South America.
There was a museum just across the street from the hotel displaying Ecuador history. The entrance fee is free but we preferred to wonder the streets. The city is littered with some beautiful mural and graffiti as viewed around the park and city streets.
The entrance to the park is located right across the street from the hotel.
Looking at the park from the hotel and trying to decide if the park was worth the visit, our bodies, being up since 2 am made the decision for us, as we needed our rest for the next day’s events. We decided to go back to our hotel for the night.
The alarm went off early the next day. This would be the norm for our vacation. After getting ready, suitcases packed and outside the door, we went down for breakfast.
There was a nice selection of eggs, bacon, cereal, yogurt, fruits, breads, cheese, juice and coffee, tea, and water.
