Instead of walking the hill, we decided to try the steps to Spiaggia del Fornillo Beach Positano Italy.
This beach is located below the hotel, down many steep and narrow steps. We did not pass many people along the way. I started counting the steps as we made our way down, but lost track. You will see why as you go through the pictures.
When we finally reached the beach, most people were gone for the day. The beach is made of pebbly/rocky stones, not what we are used to. You might want beach shoes if you plan on spending time on the beaches in Italy.
There are different cafes to grab a bit to eat or get a drink. It’s quieter location than Grande Spiaggia which is the main beach. Most people miss out on this beach if they don’t explore the area.
We took a picture of the sun setting and made our way back to the main beach.
To return to the main beach we had more steps to climb. This is probably why people don’t wonder over to this side.
The walkway eventually took us back to where we came in by ferry. I think we made the right choice walking up the hill, instead of taking the steps. Taking the steps is a shorter route, but there are way too many steps to try to carry luggage. During our four nights in Positano, we never took those steps again. Instead we preferred walking up down the hill each day. At least we could break the walk up by browsing through the shops along the way.
